What is Araam?
Araam is a bilingual (English & Persian) mental wellness companion that brings together a small set of carefully chosen practices: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to gently reshape unhelpful thoughts, mindfulness to bring you back into the present, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for self-compassion, and simple breath and movement work to calm the nervous system.
It works as a Progressive Web App on any phone or laptop, fully offline-capable, with no subscription or ads. Your journal is encrypted and lockable. The empathetic AI chat is private and never used to train models. Everything that matters — assessments, multi-week programs, calming sounds, the safety plan — is one tap away.
Important: Araam is a self-help tool, not a replacement for professional psychiatric or psychological care. If you're in crisis, please contact a licensed clinician or your local emergency line.
Frequently asked questions
What is Araam and what does it do?⌄
Araam is a comprehensive mental wellness app for Persian and English speakers. It blends evidence-based tools — CBT, ACT, mindfulness, breathwork — with a warm, conversational AI companion so you can track moods, reframe difficult thoughts, calm your nervous system, and build healthier daily habits. Every feature is free, private, and works without a VPN.
Is Araam really free?⌄
Yes. All of Araam — the empathetic chat, journal, meditations, assessments, planner, multi-week programs and the article library — is fully free. No paywall, no monthly subscription, no ads.
Is my data private and secure?⌄
Yes. Your data is stored encrypted and is only accessible from your account. Journal entries can be locked with an additional pass-key. No one — including the Araam team — can read your journals, chats, or assessment results. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers.
Can Araam replace therapy or a psychiatrist?⌄
No. Araam is a self-help and daily mental wellness tool — not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. If you're experiencing severe depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or any crisis, please reach out to a licensed clinician. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Who is Araam for?⌄
Araam is for anyone who wants to take better care of their mental wellbeing: students, busy professionals, parents, teens (16+), and anyone living with anxiety, insomnia, burnout, or simply wanting a more intentional daily life.
Do I need to create an account?⌄
Not to get started. You can use every tool as a guest and your data stays on your device. Creating a free account (email or Google) takes less than a minute and unlocks cross-device sync, weekly insights, multi-week programs and habit tracking.
Does Araam work without a VPN?⌄
Yes. Araam runs on a stable infrastructure that's accessible worldwide — including for users inside Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and the Persian-speaking diaspora — without any VPN.
Can I install Araam on my phone?⌄
Yes. Araam is a Progressive Web App (PWA). In Chrome or Safari, choose "Add to Home Screen" to install it like a native app — it works offline and can send reminder notifications.
What therapeutic approaches does Araam use?⌄
Araam's tools are grounded in evidence-based methods: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for reframing thoughts, Mindfulness for present-moment awareness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for self-compassion, 4-7-8 breathwork to calm the nervous system, and validated questionnaires such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7 for self-assessment.
How can Araam help me reduce daily stress and anxiety?⌄
Begin the day with a two-minute box-breath or 4-7-8 practice, do a brief mood check-in around midday, and close the day with a body-scan meditation or a sleep wind-down. In stressful moments, open the empathetic chat or try a CBT thought reframe. Over a few weeks, this simple loop noticeably reduces anxiety and rumination.
Is Araam useful for depression and insomnia?⌄
Araam has supportive tools for mild-to-moderate symptoms of depression, insomnia, burnout and social anxiety: PHQ-9 mood tracking, behavioural activation and daily gratitude practices, calming soundscapes and sleep-focused meditations, and multi-week programs such as "Better Sleep" and "MBSR." It does not replace clinical care — for severe symptoms please see a professional.
